There are a variety of alternate names for the different expressions of psychic ability. Often it depends on the culture or region. Scrying is the term that seems to be used the most but I have heard others as well.

Also the results of said practice also depend on the initial intention. If you were specifically intending to view your spiritual energy instead of future events or scenarios then that is what you might see. Or if you have no specific goal in mind you may view only different levels of your own energy.

During the first few moments of the scrying session there can be a shifting of your own reflection that represents the various dimensional levels of your own being. Though after several more moments of patient relaxed concentration you will notice that this shifting stops. Your own reflection will dissolve and other images will begin to appear.

The overall experience is unique to the one practicing, but in general the steps seem to occur in a similar fashion with almost everyone.

As far as using a camera. I am not sure a camera would be able to capture images that are actually dancing within your mind's eye, but it may be possible to capture other psychic phenomena occurring during the session.

Great article! I've actually beem doing this for many years now (since I was around 13) but always thought it was called mirror gazing. After not finding a lot of info, I eventually stopped but now I think I'll start up again. So, what exactly are you supposed to take away from seeing all the faces being superimposed (?) in front of your own? I know you said it is a reflection of the person doing the scrying but....is that it? Also, have you ever pointed a camera towards the mirror while doing this? I'm going to try the next time I do it.
